Kaleidoscope! Trail Mix is a unique snack product that blends nuts, fruits, and seeds with packaging that doubles as a kaleidoscope to spark creativity, encourage healthy living, and promote a sustainable lifestyle. Targeted towards parents who are interested in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and camping, this central concept behind this product aims to provide a snack option with everyday packaging that has a functional and creative tool–such as a kaleidoscope–that promotes environmental responsibility through upcycling.

After the trail mix is consumed, the packaging can be transformed into a kaleidoscope through a series of directions (and a little creativity!). To make the kaleidoscope more interactive, each package includes a sticker sheet with brand characters. Stickers can be used to decorate and personalize each kaleidoscope. The stickers also serve as a reminder of the outdoor adventures that inspired the purchase of the product, connecting the snack with the activities its designed to fuel.  The design features bright, bold typography combined with food imagery and labels to easily promote which ingredients are in the product. The colorful and energetic design choices reflect the fast-paced environment of children playing outdoors.
