Out ‘N’ About is an event designed to guide college-aged friends in the Bloomington/Normal area through an exploration of their new hometown while fostering a stronger connection with the newfound distance in their friendship. Participants not only gain insight into the area’s history but can bond, sharing experiences that highlight how their relationship dynamics may evolve as they settle into their new environment. The system includes an icon system, brochure, maps, directional signage, merchandise, game, and detailed brand guidelines.  

The navigation solutions are designed to be both functional and engaging, with signage and wayfinding elements using a cohesive color palette, shapes, and patterns. Walking paths, maps, and an organized itinerary keep participants on track throughout their journey. The system incorporates three primary modes of transportation–bus, walking, and driving–to help the new student understand travel options in their new college town.
